When you are faced with a mountain of clothes you don’t want to wash, fold and put away procrastination becomes the norm.
My first answer is of course to call Tomlinson Cleaning for maid service, but when that isn’t an option you have to find the self-motivation to get it done.
Act your way into a better way of feeling. Start washing the clothes. Start folding the clothes, and put up one stack of clothes as you begin to grin and bear it. Acting always precedes feeling.
Remember that. Acting always precedes feeling. It never works the other way around. If your dreading a particular task, job or responsibility don’t ever expect a sudden feeling of elation at the prospect of doing that particular task, job or responsibility. That’s not human nature.
However, if you force yourself to do the thing you don’t want to do you’ll be surprised how the feelings change.
Give it a try.
